Khronos Selects Hooked for OpenGL® ES 2.0 Conformance Tests
Hooked to define conformance standards for the embedded graphics industry
Los Altos Hills, CA – March 6, 2006, For immediate release:
Hooked Wireless, Inc., and the Khronos Group announced today that Hooked will write the conformance tests
for OpenGL ES 2.0, in consultation with Khronos and the working group for the OpenGL ES standard.
The tests are slated for release in mid-summer, 2006.
"We're extremely pleased to be given the opportunity to work on this project, and to be approved
by the working group", says Mike Bruno, CEO of Hooked.
"With OpenGL ES almost universally accepted as the API for 3D graphics on cell phones, and with
phone handsets so dominant in mobile and embedded electronics, these tests
will set the driver conformance bar for most of the embedded graphics industry.
Hooked Wireless is dedicated to the production of carrier-grade technology for the software stack
of cell phones, mp3-players and other handheld devices. It was formed by industry veterans John Airey and
Mike Bruno in September of 2004
