OpenVG is an emerging standard for 2D vector
graphic, bitmap and font rendering on mobile devices. It is
essentially a companion API for OpenGL® ES, the mobile industry standard
for 3D graphics. Both standards are managed by the Khronos Group.
Standards are good, of course, but a graphics standard is only valuable
if it's fast enough to be useful. In practice, that often
requires hardware acceleration.
Hooked Wireless offers a way to accelerate OpenVG without the need for
special OpenVG hardware. We have layered OpenVG on top of OpenGL
ES, enabling accelerated vector graphics on existing 3D hardware.
Now, you can have the best of both worlds - high-speed vector and
bitmap manipulation, with full API conformance, without the cost of
OpenVG silicon.
Hooked OpenVG is one of the very few VG-on-ES drivers that can achieve
full conformance without sacrificing speed. It supports the both
the full 1.0 and 1.1 feature sets.
